I’m not an expert, but from what I understand, there are a few reasons why some people might still choose desktop computers over laptops. First off, if you’re into gaming or need to run heavy-duty software, desktops generally offer better performance for your money. They tend more powerful, mainly because they can handle more robust hardware that wouldn’t fit or would overheat in a laptop.
Another point is upgradeability. With desktops, it’s usually much easier to upgrade your hardware. Want a new graphics card, more RAM, or additional storage? No problem, there’s plenty of room and usually, it’s pretty straightforward to swap parts. You can’t often say the same for laptops.
Finally, there’s the ergonomic aspect. Desktop setups can be more comfortable for long hours of use, given you can choose your keyboard, mouse, and monitor setup. It’s ideal for a fixed workspace. This setup flexibility can be a big plus for professionals or anyone spending a lot of time at their computer.
