I guess it depends on what you’re into? Like, if you’re super into skiing and stuff, maybe those fancy places on the slopes are cool. But if you’re just there to hang out and do a bit of skiing, some hotel or a rental in the town might be better and cheaper. Plus, towns have more stuff to do at night!

OMG, last year I stayed at this ski-in/ski-out lodge right at the base of the mountain, and it was epic! 🎿 Seriously, you just wake up, grab your gear, and you’re on the slopes in like two minutes. If you’re all about the skiing and wanna make the most of your time, choose these places. The best part? After a long day, you don’t need to lug your gear around; you just ski right up to the door. Defo recommend for anyone who hates fuss and loves skiing!

Luxury Ski Resorts

For those looking for the ultimate in comfort and services, luxury ski resorts are the best option. These resorts typically offer high-end amenities such as spa services, gourmet dining, and immediate ski-in/ski-out access to the slopes. Guests can expect to find well-appointed accommodations, often with fireplaces, private balconies with stunning mountain views, and personalized concierge services to handle every need. Establishments like Aspen’s The Little Nell or Switzerland’s Badrutt’s Palace stand out in this category, providing world-class facilities and unparalleled service that cater specifically to the affluent traveler seeking more than just a place to stay, but a complete luxury experience amidst the snow.

As a keen skier myself, I find that choosing the right ski accommodation depends a lot on what you’re looking for. If you value ease of access to the slopes and don’t want the hassle of transports, ski-in/ski-out facilities are invaluable. They may cost more, but the convenience is worth every penny for many. On the other hand, staying in a nearby town can offer a more cultural experience and often at a cheaper price. Places like Bariloche, Argentina, or Queenstown, New Zealand offer great skiing nearby with a vibrant local life to enjoy as well.
