Well, I’ve used both freeware and shareware, so I guess I can give a bit of insight. First off, when you hear freeware, think ‘totally free’. That means you can download and use the software without paying a dime. You’ll find plenty of common tools and utilities available as freeware, like PDF readers or simple image editors. Now, shareware is a bit different. This stuff isn’t entirely free forever. Typically, you get to use it for a while (like a trial period), and then you’ll need to pay to keep using it if you like it. Might be a few weeks, might be longer. It’s great because you get to try before you buy, sort of a test drive for software.
